TAYLOR SCOOPS BEST BOXER AWARD IN CHINA

Katie Taylor collected the Best Boxer award at the 7th AIBA World Women’s Championships in China.

 

Katie Taylor scooped the Best Boxer award at the 7th AIBA World Women’s Championships in Qinhuangdao, China today.

The Bray BC lightweight claimed her fourth AIBA World title on-to-trot earlier today following her 11-7 victory over Russia’s Sofya Ochigava in the 60kg final.

Ireland’s three-strong squad of Taylor, Ceire Smith and Sinead Kavanagh finished in fifth spot in the medals tables and in 11th place in the rankings tables in Qinhuangdao.

Ireland were using the smallest squad of any of the nations in the top eleven in the rankings table.
