Katie Taylor convincingly beat Ingrid Egner to complete a royal double last night.

The current World, European and EU  champion earned a unanimous decision over the Norwegian lightweight  at the Royal Hotel in her hometown of Bray.

Taylor was on top for the opening two rounds on last night’s encounter, before upping the pace in the second and running away with the fourth en route to yet another victory.

The win arrived 24 hours after she beat Sandra Brugger – her fourth win in-a-row over the Swiss lightweight - at the same venue.
Saturday’s victory was Taylor’s third on-the-trot  over the durable Egner.
Her dad and coach, Pete Taylor, said that he was  were delighted with the performance and thanked the people of Co. Wicklow and beyond for coming  out to support the World number one.
Taylor senior and Zuar Antia were working Taylor’s corner at the Royal Hotel.
Taylor is preparing for the AIBA World Women’s Championships in China in May.
She’ll be aiming for  her fourth successive title in Asia in the tournament which will double up as the only qualifier for female boxers for the XXX Olympic Games in London.
Friday and Saturday’s clashes with Brugger and Egner were the main events of the evening on a full card of boxing  at the Royal Hotel.
