QUIGLEY CLAIMS GOLD IN LITHUANIA

Ireland claimed one gold, one silver and four bronze medals at the Lithuania Multi- Nations today.

Donegal’s Jason Quigley claimed gold at the Algirdas Socikas Multi Nations in Lithuania today after winning his third fight in three days.

The Finn Valley BC middleweight hammered out an 18-5 decision over Matouk Belal of Denmark to finish on top of the podium in Kaunas.

Kildare flyweight Chris Phelan was also in action today but had to retire with a hand injury in the second round of his 51kg final with Team GB 2012 Olympian Andrew Selby of Wales.

Phelan was 2-1 up against Selby, the 2011 European champion and 2011 AIBA World Championships silver medalist, after the first round.

Ireland claimed one gold, one silver and four bronze medals in Lithuania.
