The High Performance Programme was established in 2003 by The Irish Sports Council in conjunction with the IABA. The first appointment was Gary Keegan. He immediately brought Billy Walsh, Zaur Antia and Jim Moore on board. The High Performance Management Team includes Sports Psychologists, Strength & Conditioning, Nutritionists, Physiotherapists, Athlete Career Support Staff and Medical Doctors. We also work closely with The Institute of Sport's High Performance Athlete Team.
Our High Performance Gym is located on the South Side of Dublin adjacent to The National Boxing stadium in Dublin. There are currently 47 Athletes in the High Performance Programme ranging from Youths to Our Elite Squad. After the success of our boxing team at The 2008 Beijing Olympics, Gary Keegan moved on to the newly established Institute of Sport to take up the position of Director of Performance Management.
