Irish Elite champion Adam Nolan is set to make his Olympic debut at the ExCel in London tonight.
Irish southpaw Adam Nolan will make his Olympic debut against Ecuador’s Carlos Daniel Sanchez Estacio this evening.
The welterweight clash is scheduled for 10.15pm.
Wexford-native Nolan, who boxes out of the Bray BC, goes into the ring looking to follow up on John Joe Nevin’s and Irish team captain Darren O’Neill’s wins at the ExCel yesterday.
Nevin and O’Neill earned convincing last-32 decisions over Denmark and Nigeria to get Ireland’s campaign off to a perfect start on Saturday.
Nolan, if he advances from tonight’s contest, will meet either Qing Maitituersun Mai of China or Russia’s Andrey Zamkovoy in the last-16 on August 3rd.
The Irish squad will have a training session at 5pm today.
