Milward was involved in a cracking 46kg three-rounder with O’Callaghan. This one went all the way down to a countback, the Clann Naofa ace getting the nod on a 69-67 verdict.

An end-to-end decider saw both boxers tied at 13-13 before Aquieta’s hand that was raised by a two-point margin of victory on accepted scores.
Christine Gargan, a silver medal for Ireland at the 2010European Youth and Junior Championships, also remerged victorious today.
Talented young Kildare and Tramore prospects Molly Brennan and Zoe Breslin got Saturday’s last-four contests underway.
