AIBA held its final Technical meeting before the 2012 Olympic Games in London this afternoon….

The officials seeds in each of the 13 men’s and women’s weight categories will be announced just before Friday’s draw between 2pm and 4pm.

The draw for the boxing event at the 2012 Olympics will take place tomorrow, Friday July 27th, in the Spectators Zone of the ExCeL, the venue for boxing at the 2012 Games, and will distribute the 250 Men Boxers into ten weight categories and 36. Women Boxers into three weight categories.

The general weigh-in will be held between 7am and 9am tomorrow (July 27th).

Meanwhile, Katie Taylor arrived in London today and joined her Irish team-mates at the Olympic village.

Taylor has been selected as Irish flag bearer and will lead out Team Ireland at Friday’s Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Games.

Taylor (1st) and John Joe Nevin (4th) will be Ireland’s highest AIBA ranked boxers going into Friday’s draw in the women’s lightweight and men’s bantamweight classes.

Irish team captain Darren O’Neill is ranked 7th in the middleweight class, while Michael Conlan is ranked 9th at flyweight.
