AIBA President, Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, has appointed a total of 24 International Technical Officials and 35 AIBA Olympic Referees and Judges (R&J’s).
An additional four (4) R&Js will be appointed based on their performance evaluation at the remaining two Continental Olympic Qualifying Events and the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships Qinhuangdao 2012.
In addition, AIBA President appointed Mr Pat Fiacco, President of the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association and member of the AIBA Refereeing & Judging Commission, as Deputy Technical Delegate to assist Mr Franco Falcinelli, the AIBA Technical Delegate of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
AIBA will not reveal the identity of these R&Js before the Women’s World Boxing Championships.
All R&Js will be invited to the Olympic R&Js Workshop which will be held in Assisi, Italy, between 26 May and 1 June.
Tyrone’s Michael Gallagher was presented with the AIBA 2011 World R&J award in London in November, just a few weeks after he scooped the best R&J award at the 2011 AIBA World Championships in Baku.
